The Purpose of ECC Groups

God created all of us to live in community with others and only then can we experience the full life He intends for us (Genesis 2:18; Galatians 6:2). ECC believes life change happens in the context of relationships. Meaningful relationships can be hard to find, and ECC Groups exist to make life-changing relationships relevant and accessible to our members and to the community beyond our walls.

A History of Christian Denominations* An ECC Class! Overview: What’s the difference between the Methodists and Presbyterians? What about Lutherans and Catholics and Anglicans? Baptists are Protestants, right? Are Episcopalians the same as Anglicans? What is Eastern Orthodoxy? Starting at the very beginning of the formation of the church and going all the way up to the present day, we will be looking at the “family tree” of Christianity. I call it a family tree because I think it is important to recognize that we all share the same roots; that is, believing loyalty in Jesus Christ alone as the one true God. Throughout history and throughout various cultural, ethnic and geographical variances there have been a broad variety of expressions of worship, church structure, liturgical practices etc. I think it’s important that we understand where these differences come from, why they exist and how we can foster genuine sense of family and love in Christ. As Saint Augustine said: “In essentials, unity; in non-essentials, liberty; in all things, charity”Sunday at 9:00 AMCentral Valley

In Resilient, Eldredge provides skills and tools to strengthen your heart and soul—and reveals a path toward genuine recovery and resilience provided by Jesus himself. Drawing on wisdom from Scripture and Christian tradition, and illustrated throughout with powerful, true stories of grit and survival. Thriving requires a resilient soul. Fortunately, the Bible preserves crucial details about the powerful lessons learned by Godly men who have already faced and answered many of these questions. This study takes you into scripture for a first hand encounter with: -Ten epic stories of the Bible's most talked about men. -Ten proven principles based on their failures and successes. -The huge promise that you can become the man God created you to be! Join us on Wednesday nights as we journey together through Scripture, and apply it to real life situations that all of us are facing. It’s one thing to know facts about him, but to experience his love, wisdom, and guidance in your life is what it means to follow him. On the night before he was crucified, Jesus invited his disciples into a deep relationship with the triune God—and his invitation stands for us too. In this 6-part series, Francis Chan dives into John 13–17, a passage rich in promises, commands, and eternal truths. Newell Small Group*New Group Starts October 5th* These are confusing times for many Christians. Traditional biblical values are not only rejected; it seems as if they're attacked on every front. It's all happened at warp speed, leaving many of us spiritually and culturally disoriented or even fearful, frustrated, and angry. How can we spiritually survive in an increasingly spiritually hostile environment? And is there any hope for the next generation? In this 5-session series, Larry Osborne introduces us to a man forced to live in a fast-changing and godless society. This man faced fears about the future, concern for his safety, and the discouragement of a world that seemed to be falling apart at warp speed. That man was Daniel, and with the power of hope, humility, and wisdom, he not only survived, but thrived. Each session also includes real-life stories of people struggling to thrive in an ever-increasing godless society. Though Daniel lived thousands of years ago, he has much to teach us today.ThursdayCentral Valley
